Kayla is sleeping longer these days at night. Since that first night she slept through last week she has done it a couple more times. Even when she doesn't sleep all the way through she is usually sleeping about 5 hours after her last feeding of the evening. That last feeding may end up being anywhere between 9 p.m. and midnight depending on how she has been eating through the day. The later it is the better it is for us as she will make it further through the night.

She is holding her head more and more. When she is being burped she likes to hold her head up and look around. She is also getting more interested in her own reflection and getting better control of her hands. She spends a lot of time trying to maneuver her hand to her mouth in an attempt to suck her thumb, though getting frustrated when she can't quite line it up or release her thumb from her fist.

Kayla slept through the night for the first time last night. I last fed her at 11:30pm and she didn't wake up until 5:30 this morning. It was also the first time she slept entire night in her crib.

She had been napping and sleeping part of the evening in her crib but generally slept in her bassinet. She was starting to seem a little big for the bassinet so we decided to let her sleep the night in the crib. We set up a baby monitor so we could hear her in the nursery and it worked great. You could hear her so well that Bobbie asked me if she was in the bassinet which was in our room.

We'll see if she makes it again tonight.

This is Kayla's Mommy and this is my first post to her weblog. Today she was very good! We took her to Target this afternoon and we bought a baby monitor for her since she's starting to sleep in her crib. She's nine weeks old today and 10 lbs.

So far, every time we take her outside the house in the car carrier, she pretty much falls asleep. It's good and it's bad. Sometimes it would be good if she'd look around at her surroundings.

Also on this weblog we will post pictures showing Kayla as she grows. Here is a picture of Kayla just minutes after she was born.
This is the first post for the Kayla Rose Weblog. I am Kayla's Father - Mike Pawlik. Kayla's mother is Bobbie Pawlik. Kayla was born June 18th, 2005 - 4 weeks before her due date.
She weighed 5lbs 7 oz and was adorable.

She is two months as we start this weblog. We will use this weblog to record and share all the little changes and milestones of her life as she grows up. When she gets older we will be able to look back at how she grew up.

Right now she is starting to be able to hold her head up on her own for small amounts of time. Each day it seems to be a little longer. Soon she will be sitting up and eventually crawling.
