On September 18th, Kayla was baptized. Her Aunt Kristi and Uncle Mark were her Godparents and flew in for the event. It was a great weekend for Kayla and she also got to meet her Great Grandma Mary Louise and her Aunt Kelly for the 1st time. She also had some Grandparents who were generous enough to babysit her while they were in town!

Kayla was 12 weeks yesterday. This past week she discovered her hands and has been trying relentlessly to get her thumb. As you can see, she got it. She is also smiling more and more when we look at her and talk with her. She loves to have direct eye contact and be talked to. I can't believe how much she's grown in 3 months.

Luckily Bobbie is only working half-time for the next couple weeks which should make the transition a little easier.

Here's a family picture we took this morning before church (on Sept 4th 2005).
Just for the record, I wanted to mention that 2 weeks ago Kayla received 4 shots at her 2 Month check up. It was horrible! They gave her 4 shots (2 in each thigh). She was in such a cute, fun mood beforehand and then she just screamed. The effects seemed to have made her miserable for about 2 days.
She'll have to get 4 more at her 4 Month check up. Next time, I'm going to ask the doctor if I can give her Infant Tylenol beforehand. Ond of my friends said their pediatrician always recommended this and I think it would have helped. The Tylenol was definitely a lifesaver afterwards.

This is one of Kayla's recent pictures. I call it "Like father, like daughter." Mike's teaching her to be comfortable using the remote.
This morning we took Kayla to church for the 1st time. I was a little nervous but she was very good. She was mostly awake and looking around. She didn't try to recite any of the prayers but that was understandable. I had to run out in the middle of mass to find a changing table. Fortunately, they had a nice room right outside with just a changing table and a sink. How convenient! You never notice these things until you need them.
They announced one of the baptisms taking place after mass. In only 2 more weeks, they'll be announcing her baptism!
