Kayla had her first airplane trip this past weekend when we flew out to San Diego for Thanksgiving. She did really well traveling (with the exception of a crying fit while boarding the plane from Dallas to Tampa). She even made some friends on the plane. One lady couldn't get over how cute she was and spent about a half hour cooing at her while Kayla laughed and smiled back.
You can see she got to spend some quality time watching sports with Uncle Ben and Grandpa Pawlik. She also took a 3 hour car ride up to Los Angeles to see her Uncle Trevor's place. She really enjoyed her first Thanksgiving even though she didn't have any turkey.

Kayla had another milestone on October 29th when she had her first "solid" food. We gave her some rice cereal. She absolutely loved it! She kept grabbing the spoon and kept wanting more.
The next day we gave her some more and she was not as crazy about it the second time. Since then some days she likes it some days she doesn't. She has had both rice and oatmeal cereal but doesn't seem to have a preference.
As you would expect she gets most of it on her chin but she does manage to eat a fair amount of it. I am anxious to see how she likes fruit and vegetables. It will be a big change to eat something with some actual flavor. I tried the rice cereal and it is pretty bland stuff, though she will gobble it up. However I have also tried the formula and I think it is disgusting though she goes crazy for it.

For Halloween I took her around to a few houses for Trick or Treating. She held on to her bag real tight and she got lots of candy. It is a shame she is not allowed to eat it.
As you can see Trick or Treating is tiring work and she fell asleep after just 5 houses. That was a pity as I am sure she could have gotten quite a bit more candy.

Tonight she successfully sucked on her big toe. This has been a goal of hers that she has been relentlously attempting since finding her feet.
I tried it myself and luckily was not nearly limber enough to even come close. I would have felt guilty if I could have done it as it would have stolen some of her thunder.
