Well, Kayla Rose was 11 months this past week and she got her first tooth! Along with it, she got a really bad cough and runny nose. For anyone keeping count, this is at least her 3rd cold in the last month. It was a long week, but she's doing really well now. (We think she's learning to share well as she passed this cold and cough on to Daddy as well.)
We found out at the doctor that she's now 21 lbs. As you can see from the pictures, she loves to be walking around (with help). She must be fairly close to walking on her own so Mike and I could be in trouble. It's hard enough keeping an eye on her now. The teachers at her school even noticed how much she likes to explore. She's into everything!
She's also starting to get curls in the back although she still doesn't have a whole lot of hair from the front. And, oh yes, we're pretty sure she can now say "apple". When we showed her a real apple, she acted a little afraid. For some reason, Tickle-Me-Elmo scares her and now we think she associates anything red with him! She's also a little afraid of a couple of the Baby Einstein videos. But, things like falling off the bed don't scare her a bit. Go figure.
In the other picture above you can see her socializing with her friends Ian and Gillian who live 2 doors down. Gillian is about 10 months older than Kayla so she's got a good playmate real close by.
