We all went to San Diego for the weekend and Kayla got to visit all her Pawlik uncles - Trevor, Matt and Ben as well as her Grandpa Bob and Kate.

She had a great time. She got to see Ben play a baseball game though she was more interested in the bunnies in the bushes behind the baseball field.

She really liked Spike the boxer and Baby the Great Dane. She loved going to the back door and banging on the window until they started barking. She thought that was hysterical.

The time change was a little rough, she woke up at 4:30 am the morning after we got there. Since she gets up normally at 6:30 am Tampa time we were greatful she slept in an hour and didn't wake up at 3:30.

It was a quick visit but a lot of fun. The flights there and back were long but she was a real trooper.

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY

It was my 2nd official Mother's day. We had just planned to have a relaxing day but then we remembered that ever since Kayla was born, there is no such thing. But, it was a great day and I know I'm lucky to be Kayla's mommy.

Kayla must have known it was Mother's day cause she let me sleep in a half hour later than normal. She didn't call out for mommy and daddy until 6:40 am!

We decided to spend the morning at the zoo and headed for the camel ride early. This is Kayla's second time and she gets really excited. Afterwards she was talking away and one guy had asked how old she was. He was amazed she was talking so well. Then, she looked right at him and said "I'm going to feed the Rhino" and she ran off with her bowl of Cheerios.

After lunch, we let Kayla play in the fountains. It's already really hot in Florida so this was a nice way to cool off. The hard part was dragging her away from the fountains when it was time to go home. It was a great Mother's Day.

Kayla's friend Hayley, from school, turned 2 this past week and her birthday party was today at Gymboree. What a great party! Kayla had a ball. She got to climb, slide, seesaw, and sing songs for about an hour. Kayla isn't as shy as she used to be at Gymboree. If the instructor says it's time to do the parachute or an activity, Kayla goes running over.

After an hour of play, they made the call for cake and all the kids went running. Funny how they all know that word by age 2. The theme for the party was ladybugs and Kayla got some nice party favors and a balloon.

I wasn't sure what to expect for a birthday party of 2 year olds, but the kids were so cute to watch and really well behaved.

Kayla got to spend Easter with her Grandma Pawlik who visited from Denver. She made her special Bunny cake, though I don't think it is made out of actual bunnies. It was very tasty.

On Easter Kayla and her friends Kurt and Cole searched for eggs in the front yard and afterwards we all, including Kurt and Cole's parents - Mike and Kathleen Cachon, ate the aforementioned bunny cake.

While Grandma was here they went to the zoo, Gymboree and spent lots of time at the playground. Here Kayla decided to try out Grandma's glasses. She thought they made her look smart, but she only needs them for riding her trike at night.
