Kayla had her exciting 2nd birthday party at Gymboree. The theme was Curious George and she had a Curious George cake and Curious George goody boxes for all the kids.

There were about a dozen kids total and they had a great time. They banged on drums and shook tambourines and maracas. They chased bubbles and looked for jungle animals hidden throughout the maze of slides and ramps there to slide, jump and climb on and under.

They had pizza and cake and sang Happy Birthday to Kayla and then she blew out the candle(with a little help from mom). After eating cake they all then ran out to play some more.

It's hard to believe my little baby girl is 2. Her personality really shows these days. She's put me in time out occasionally as well as putting her self there from time to time. Her teachers tell me she likes to correct them and try to lead them. Today, one of the teachers was talking to Kayla's friend Anabelle and said, "Hey Belle". Kayla quickly corrected her and said "No, it's Anabelle". They got a kick out of that.

If Kayla sees me lying down, she likes to come up and ask me if I want some water. She says "Want some water mommy?" Then, she says "Be right back" and runs off to get me a glass. She's very sweet. Well, 99% of the time. She's also just started calling her Dad "Daddy-O". We're not sure where that came from.

She's getting pretty good on learning little details too. She can tell anyone her mommy and daddy's name and sometimes she calls us by our first names just to get our attention. She also knows the name of the street she lives on and she easily recognizes the grocery store and doctor's office when we pass by.

She has her good friends now at school too. I'd have to say that Hayley, Anabelle, Max, and Nate are her closest friends, but there's a few others too. Last week she kept telling me they were all coming to her birthday party as well as a few of her teachers. I didn't have the heart to tell her we hadn't invited all of them.

Here's a few pictures from our recent trip to Myrtle Beach over the 4th of July. We had a blast and Kayla got to spend some time with her Uncle Ed and Aunt Kristi as well as Nana and Pop Pop. Kayla did a good job of keeping track of everyone. No one can leave the room without Kayla asking where they went. She also kept asking, "What's Uncle Ed doing?" Hmmm, good question Kayla.
