I picked Kayla up from school and she was a little wet from some water fun they had today. I thought it was interesting because on the way home, she told me she was not nice to her friends and she got a time out for splashing water on them. I kinda laughed because the teacher wrote that she was nice to her friends today and didn't mention a time out but I assume it's true. The teacher only said that Kayla loved the water day fun they had. I can only imagine!

It's kind of funny too because it's the first time I've ever heard about her getting a time out at school and it was from her, not her teacher!

Kayla had a visit from her Uncle Trevor this weekend, or as she sometimes called him - Uncle Wevor. She really enjoyed his company always wanting to sit next to him and have him read her stories. She said that he was a "good boy". In the photo above she used her camera to take some candid photos him.

We went to the Museum of Science and Industry and they have a section just for kids that she loved. She got to crawl through tunnels and there was a cave that was her favorite part. It had an opening for big people to come in through and a small opening for crawling into that she went through at least a dozen times.

With a lot of kids at Kayla's daycare moving to a new school a couple weeks ago, her and many of her friends moved over to the big kids room. She's still with her buddies - Anabelle, Max, Nate, Olivia, Torrin, and Ashley. The toddler gram that I now get at the end of the day allows them to circle any or all of the following behaviors that she exhibits during the day:

NICE TO FRIENDS
FOLLOWED DIRECTIONS
GOOD MANNERS

She consistently has the 1st and 3rd circled but doesn't do so well on following directions. The teacher even wrote a note last week saying "She really didn't want to follow directions at all today, but she's still such a cutie." So, we know what we have to work on.

However, she's doing great using the potty at school. The aids even told me that she's doing better than some of the 3 year-olds. Sometimes though in the morning she doesn't want to go for us at all because she wants to go for Ms. Maria (her teacher). I think she's actually doing better at using the potty at school than at home.

I love to hear the comments and funny stories from the teachers. One day I walked in to pick her up and they asked if I was there to pick up Miss Chatterbox. Another time, the teacher said she loves how she can hold such grown up adult conversation. At home she's cracked us up several times by looking at us, pointing her finger and saying "Be right back. Don't move." She goes to run and get something but looks back several times to make sure we're not moving.

SEE KAYLA RUN

Here's Kayla out for an early morning walk with Boog, Elliot, and Daddy. Kayla decided to step up the pace and run and took a face plant into the pavement. Lately she prefers to run instead of walk -- even though she hasn't quite got the technique. In the third picture, she's nursing her wound. Luckily for her she has a really small nose or we're guessing she would have broken it several times by now!
