Kayla had a solo again this year in her Christmas program. Here she is singing Silent Night.

Kayla and Jake got to tell Santa everything they wanted for Christmas this year.

Also - a miracle has happened this Christmas season -- Kayla has decided to stop sucking her thumb!

We put something called Mavala Stop on her thumb which tastes bitter. It has been 8 days since she sucked it!

She got to tell her dentist last week and he was excited. He mentioned that everyone should give her positive encouragement for this. Incidentally, she had no cavities.

This shot is of Kayla leaving for school today. This isn't the first time she's decided to wear her crown to school. And, she usually keeps it in all day -- except during naptime, of course.

Here's a picture of Kayla with Finn who lives a few houses down. They are both 4 and are great friends. They can play for hours in their imaginary world.

It's funny to listen to their conversations because Finn is 100% boy and Kayla is 100% girl -- but somehow they play well together even at this age. Kayla will say, "look Finn, a beautiful flower" and Finn will say, "Oh look, a lizard. I'm going to whack it!"


After a month with Jacob, I must say Kayla is a great big sister. She wants to help out with Jacob all the time whether it's feeding, changing, or bathing him. She definitely loves him.

Kayla got a beautiful dress from Grandma Sue's trip to Mexico a few months back. According to Kayla, it's her wedding dress. She likes to dress up and pretend she's a bride.

Kayla was the perfect Dorothy this past Halloween. Along with Ava and Hayley, they stayed out nearly the entire 2 hours to trick-or-treat. They would have had more candy, but they all stopped for about 10 minutes at each house to socialize with the neighbors. The neighbors got a big kick out of their conversations!
