Both Kayla and her brother had a wonderful Easter. In addition to the Easter bunny, all their grandparents and several aunts and uncles were thinking of them and sent them some fabulous gifts. Lucky kids! They are loved.
Kayla got a nintendo DSI game, Minnie Easter basket, Uno, doll clothes, paper dolls, Uno, a little fur real dog, Veggie tales DVD, a beautiful purple butterfly dress and more. Not to mention a chocolate bunny, peanut butter eggs, and jelly beans. She also found all the eggs and left none for her brother. Oh well, he didn't seem to mind. But, wait till next year!

As usual, it was a busy week for Kayla. The highlight was the daddy/daughter dance that she got to go to on Saturday night for Daisies. It was a tropical Hawaiian theme complete with lots of dancing and fun. A few weeks ago they taught them the Macarena, Elecric slide and Cha Cha so she got to practice her new moves.

Earlier in the week she started some piano lessons. The good news is that she enjoyed her first lesson. These are just for a few more weeks but it's a nice freebie from her aftercare program that should continue next year.

Her kindergarten class continues to keep her busy with assignments. This week there was an extra credit project. Her assignment was to find out about Hummingbirds and then give a report to her class. She learned how effective Google can be! She enjoyed printing out some fun facts on Hummingbirds and then sharing with her class.

Sadly, she started on her last 9 weeks of school this past week. It's been a year of learning for sure. She's had to do a "book report" every week (which still amazes me because its just kindergarten). At the begining of the year, I would read her the books, but now she reads them on her own. She has to explain the setting and the characters, draw pictures and write a sentence or two about the books. Her reading is taking off so much that I just bought her first chapter book -- Junie B. Jones. It's a whole series of paperbacks and she seems to be enjoying this first book.
