Kayla had a pretty big week this past week. She's just shy of 10 months and this past week she learned to sit herself up on her own. Once she figured it out the first time, there was no stopping her. Not long after that, she reached for the top of the crib and pulled herself up. Now we can't put her in the crib without her standing up against the rails. It's a little scary since she'll fall if she lets go. She's already banged her head a few times.
Also, Mike and I are trying to give her less jar food and more regular food. We're also trying to give her more finger foods. Today we tried sweet potatoes, peas (the insides only), and bread. She loves to pick at the peas and bread and feed herself. As you can see from the picture, one of the peas stuck beneath her nose. We thought it was so funny we just left it there for 10 minutes.
Today we also made it to the zoo and bought an annual pass. Kayla got to see giraffes, monkeys, and rhinos. The highlight though was the fountains that she got to play in at the end of the day with the other kids.
