Here's a couple of recent pictures of Kayla. The one is on Halloween. We dressed her up in her Tinkerbell outfit and Mike took her out trick or treating. She visited about 10 houses and came home very tired, but excited. She learned how to hold her bag out for candy.
In the second picture she's showing off her Elmo slippers. She's really into Elmo and Dora right now. She's also getting very good at talking and for the most part, we can understand what she's saying. She's still not forming sentences, but she gets her point across. "Outside" and "All done" are a couple of her frequently used words.
For the blog, I wanted to be sure to mention that Kayla had her 15 month check up a few weeks ago. (Although, really she was 16 months old at that point.) She weighed in at 21.5 lbs and 29 and a half inches. She's now becoming one of the smaller ones on the chart for her age. I think they put her at the 15-20th percentile.
As for her eye, it's been about 6 weeks since her surgery. The first month her eye remained infected until we finally got an antibiotic that cleared it up (Augmenten). The whole month was completely miserable and once she even passed the infection on to me. You wouldn't think pink-eye would be such a nightmare but it really has been. We're not sure the surgery even worked yet, but for now there is no infection and she's backed to normal. Only time will tell if the tear duct is now unblocked.
