Kayla's dad built a swingset for her this weekend with a little help from the neighbors. It was an all day job but we think it'll be well worth it. It's a nice addition to the back yard.

After school today, we sat down to draw some pictures and she asked me to draw a cherry tree. So, I drew one and she proceeded to tell me that George Washington chopped the cherry tree down. I asked her who George Washington was and she said he was a president. Then she asked if I knew who our second president was. She said it was Abraham Lincoln. Mike and I were amazed she knew the names of two presidents! (And we decided it wouldn't hurt to let her think Abe was #2 for a few years!) I knew she had been learning about them at school because of Presidents Day last week. She just amazes me by how much she retains.

Lately before she goes to bed, she'll sit in her bed with her lamp on her nightstand on and "read" her books. She'll just read them out loud and it's pretty funny to listen to. She does pretty good at remembering the stories. We had bought Brown Bear, Brown Bear in Spanish (Oso Pardo, Oso Pardo) and we heard her go through the whole book in Spanish one night.

Kayla went to a birthday party for her friend Justin Sewell a couple of weekends ago. It was Justin's 4th birthday and it was at a place called Pump-It-Up, which was a blast.

It is indoors and has lots of giant inflatable slides, obstacle courses and bouncy rooms. Kayla had a great time running around to all the different play structures.

Mom and Dad got to play on them as well and it was a lot of fun. The slides were pretty high and Kayla went down them with both Mom and Dad and lots on her own. She loved climbing through the obstacle courses and of course she always likes to just jump up and down and bounce.
